KELANA JAYA: An extra "service" costs RM100 at an illegal cafe in Taman Bukit Mayang Mas here, but only 20 per cent goes to the person providing the "service".

In a raid conducted by Petaling Jaya district police headquarters at the den in a three-storey shoplot on Tuesday, the police detained 13 foreign GROs and their two caretakers, before finding out about the RM100 per session fee for customers wanting sex.

However, only RM20 will be given to the GRO, while the rest is taken by the cafe's operator.

The women detained were from Indonesia, Vietnam, China and Cambodia.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Arjunaidi Mohamad said although the joint was raided several times, it still continued operating.

"Acting on a tip, three officers and eight policemen went to check out the cafe before discovering its vice activities.

"Ten of the GROs did not have any travel documents with them. One was found in a room with a customer at the cafe's second floor," he said.

He said police also detained 10 customers to have their statements recorded.

Another was detained for not having any travel document.

"Since the cafe owner is boldly continuing operating despite being raided numerous times, we will have the municipal council seal this place.

"The cafe is also operating without a licence.

"I think this is the only way we can prevent them from continuing their vice activities here," he said. -- By Hariz Mohd
